"Re-set and re-start" - General Practice in the aftermath of Covid-19
The Covid-19 pandemic has necessitated some of the most dramatic changes to working practice in the long history of the NHS.
As we emerge into a 'new normal' we are coming to terms with what General Practice is going to look like. We are mindful of all the NHS guidance and how to interpret this in the local context.
It is very important to state that we are open for the business of General Practice. We want to hear from you if you have new health worries; we want to hear from you if you need medication reviews; we want to hear from you if you would expect to be attending for reviews of your long-term conditions (asthma, diabetes, hypertension etc.) Much of this work will take place over the telephone. We may invite you to participate in video consultations. We are operating as a "cold" site and will see you in person at the surgery where needed, with social distancing measures and personal protective equipment to keep you safe. If you have COVID-19 symptoms we may refer you to be assessed at a local "hot" hub. We may be limited in our ability to refer for some routine scans and outpatient appointments, but there is a great deal we are already doing, and will continue to do, to look after the health of our wider practice population. This includes the important work of smear testing for women and all childhood immunisations.
Please call to discuss any health care needs you may have.
Part of our learning is hearing from you about what has gone well, or what you may like to see more of. There is a link here to a questionnaire asking for your feedback.
As we go about this re-set and re-start please bear with us, there is likely to be a catch-up phase. We will try to work with you to prioritise the most urgent needs.
Wishing you health and safety
Drs Fenn, Sephton and Alexander
Face Masks / Face Coverings
To comply with new government guidance we request that all patients and members of the public attending the practice wear a face covering, unless you are exempt for health, age or equality reasons. Please be mindful and respectful of such circumstances, noting that some people are less able to wear face coverings, and that the reasons for this may not be visible to others.
Please note we are unable to provide an exemption letter for anyone unable to wear a face mask / face covering for the above reasons, please click here for more information.
To reduce numbers in the waiting room to enable us to comply with social distancing, please could we ask that patients do not come early for a 'face to face' appointment and wherever possible attend appointments alone.
